As a poor college kid, everyone needs some extra cash from time to time. It can be very difficult to work a standard part-time or full-time job, since you are busy with class and studying. There are several business ideas that can make some extra money, and you will be able to work around you schedule to achieve success. Most students will not even need money to start up these businesses, and anyone can make a few dollars a month, based on the effort and time you put in. The extra money can go a long way while in college, so any extra money is a plus. The jobs below need little to no money for the most part, you’re just going to need time, energy, and some gas money.

Tutoring:
If you already have an Associate’s degree or certification of some kind, you can tutor other college students who need help in that area. You don’t have to have a degree or certification, though; you can tutor in areas that you excel at, especially during mid term or final exam time. You will always have some customers if you know what you are doing. Make sure you advertise, and spread the word about your skills in the specific area of study.

Editing:
If you’re an English major or you’re just good at editing papers, you may want to charge students to read and edit their term papers. Proofreading and editing can make some good income, with only time as a cost.

Cleaning:
This may not be the most ideal business option, but most dorms are pretty messy. You could consider starting a dorm cleaning service. Consider stopping by on a scheduled day once a week or twice a month, depending on the person. Basically, you’d just clean up- take out the trash, dust, make the bed, straighten up the desk or work area. You may consider for an additional fee, filling the persons fridge, again the other student would need to supply the money, but it would save them from going to the store to restock.

Computer Support:
If you’re good with computers, you may want to offer services to fix basic computer problems. Do manual updates or downloads. Set up virus protection.

Freelance:
You may consider signing up to various websites such as HubPages, Squidoo, and Associated Content, to write articles that interest you. Make sure to have a Google Adsense account as well as Amazon and Ebay for websites that allow you to use your own IDs, such as HubPages. Squidoo splits the profits with you, so you don’t need to sign up for other programs, as they’ll pay you the earnings. Associated Content pays you upfront for some submissions and monthly for your performance.

These are only a few ideas that can make the typical college student some extra money. Even a few dollars a week can help very much. Use your imagination and think about a field that interests you. Who knows, you may turn your small business into a multi-million dollar corporation when you graduate…The possibilities are endless, Good luck!
